Terms of use

Terms.
How Call State is offered.

These terms govern use of the Call State website, account, desktop app and related cloud services. By creating an account or using the product, you agree to them.

Provider

Call State is provided by:

The service

Call State helps you read live Microsoft Teams meeting status on supported desktop setups and connect that status to your own tools (for example lights, deck software, scripts, CLI or REST). Paid plans may also include Teams Emulation for compatible tools that used the retired local Teams connection.

Call State is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or part of Microsoft. “Microsoft Teams” and related names belong to their owners.

Call State does not join meetings, record audio or produce transcripts. Live status is relayed within your account; we do not keep a server-side status history for profiling.

Eligibility and account

You must provide a valid email address and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.

One account may connect multiple devices. You must not share credentials in a way that undermines plan limits, security or other users.

We may refuse, suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, violate these terms or create security risk.

Plans, trial and prices

Call State offers a Free plan and a Paid plan. Current features and prices are described on the website. Prices are in euro and may change for future periods; changes do not silently rewrite an already billed period without notice according to the billing process.

  • Free: core desktop status and control features, CLI and REST as offered on the site. Free requires interactive sign-in again about every 24 hours. Free accounts may be deleted after 30 days without use; an account that ever had a paid subscription is deactivated instead, because we keep its invoices for the statutory retention period.
  • Paid: Free everyday features plus Paid-only features such as Teams Emulation for compatible legacy tools, and no daily sign-in duty. Current list prices are €1.50 per month or €12 per year unless the site shows otherwise.
  • Trial: every new account includes 7 days of Paid features without a card. After the trial, the account continues on Free unless you start a paid subscription.

Features marked as planned (for example dedicated Stream Deck or Touch Portal plugins, or browser extensions) are not part of either plan until they are actually released. Paying does not unlock unreleased products.

Compatibility and “as available”

Teams Emulation and third-party tool support are best effort. Compatibility is not automatic. Your tool must support the relevant connection and the features it needs must work with Call State. A successful connection does not guarantee every button or signal.

Controls depend on a reachable Teams meeting interface on your computer. Blocking dialogs, missing permissions, minimized windows, organization policy or Teams changes can prevent status or commands from working.

We do not promise uninterrupted operation, perfect parity with Microsoft’s former local API, or fitness for a particular automation setup. Please test with a real call during the trial before you subscribe.

Billing and Stripe

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Payment details are handled by Stripe. By starting a paid plan you also accept the applicable Stripe checkout flow for that purchase.

Subscriptions renew for the chosen period (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. Cancel anytime according to the account self-service flow once billing is available. After cancellation, Paid features end as described in the product rules; the account may continue on Free where offered.

30-day money-back guarantee: if you claim it within 30 days of your original purchase, you are entitled to a full refund of the current billing period, worldwide. Details: Money-back. This commercial guarantee is separate from any statutory consumer withdrawal right. Statutory rights remain unaffected. See the Withdrawal notice for the statutory 14-day right and model form. We do not ask you to consent to early performance, so the statutory withdrawal period is not shortened and runs for the full 14 days from the conclusion of the contract.

Acceptable use

You may use Call State only in lawful ways and only on systems and Teams accounts you are allowed to operate. You must not:

  • probe, overload or disrupt the service or other users;
  • bypass plan limits, authentication or security controls;
  • use the service to monitor or control other people’s meetings without authorization;
  • reverse engineer the service except where mandatory law allows;
  • redistribute our proprietary server software or non-public keys as if they were your product.

Local desktop permissions (for example accessibility) are granted by you on your device so Call State can read meeting controls. You remain responsible for how those permissions are used on that machine.

Intellectual property

The Call State name, website, branding and software we provide remain ours or our licensors’. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the product for your own purposes under these terms and your plan.

Open-source components included in installs keep their own licenses.

Changes and availability

We may improve, change or discontinue features when needed for security, law, cost or product direction. Where a change materially reduces a paid feature you already paid for, we will handle it fairly (for example notice, migration guidance or refund options consistent with the money-back and consumer rules).

We aim for good uptime but do not guarantee continuous availability. Maintenance, outages or third-party failures (Teams, your network, Stripe) can interrupt the service.

Liability

We provide Call State carefully, but a status tool cannot absorb unlimited risk from meeting, automation or workplace outcomes.

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory law (including the German Product Liability Act) does not allow a limit.

For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual duties (duties you may regularly rely on to use the service at all), and only for the typical, foreseeable damage. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data recoverable by ordinary backups, or damages caused solely by incompatible third-party tools, Teams changes or missing device permissions.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules that would point elsewhere. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply.

If you are a business customer, the courts of Hannover, Germany, have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law requires another venue.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always published at this URL. For material changes that affect existing paid users, we will provide reasonable notice where practical. Continued use after the effective date may constitute acceptance, except where mandatory law requires a different process.
